Bondora Superheroes #20 ā€” Viktorija Popova

šŸ‘© Bondorian since: 2013

šŸ’¬ Role: Regional Customer Relations Manager

šŸ¤ Team: Loans – Existing Markets

Viktorija began her journey at Bondora as a Loan Analyst and has worked in various capacities related to the lending product. She’s been around since Bondora’s start-up days and has watched the team grow from just a few to many.

Here’s a typical day for Viktorija:

I start my day by planning by writing a to-do list in my notebook. Then ā˜• is a must. There is usually a queue in the kitchen, but it’s an opportunity for me to chat with my colleagues as we wait. Later in the morning, I host a daily standup with my team of 10 talented individuals. It’s important for me to see and interact with them and set a positive tone for the day. The rest of my day is spent following up on Asana tasks, attending meetings, and exchanging Slack messages, all with members of various teams.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

The people. Working with individuals that want to grow and are motivated to give their absolute best is truly rewarding. My purpose is to provide them with the support, information, and tools to succeed.

What’s your favorite Bondora value?

I have two: ‘One team’ ‘No bullshit.’ I believe both values cannot be upheld without the other.

What is your random, odd, or unique but useful talent?

I can be stubborn and persistent, but it gets things done šŸ˜‰

If you could study anything again, what would it be?

I would learn to play the piano or study psychology. It’s never too late, though!

Viktorija’s must-read book:

How to win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Now for some off-the-clock questions:

If you could, what advice would you give your younger self?

Be bold. Try new things, meet different people, and travel to learn about various cultures.

Should pineapple be allowed on pizza?

Sure, but pickles are better šŸ˜

What’s your favorite TV show?

Jeopardy! (Kuldvillak in Estonian). I like to cook and watch various cooking shows for inspiration.

What’s the phone app that you use the most?

Waze. I tend to get lost.

How often do you hit the snooze button, or do you wake up immediately in the morning?

The snooze button is my favorite function on the alarm clock, so the answer is a lot. I’m really skilled at it.

What’s something you want to do that scares you?

I want to learn how to dive, but I’m afraid of being underwater. But I’ll try it one day!

Finally, what do you like to do in your free time?

I like to cook and enjoy doing so for my family and friends. My family is very important to me, so I try to spend most of my time with them. On occasion, I will take some alone time by the sea to clear my head.

And that’s it for this today’s post! Join us again next month as we get to know our 21st Superhero.
