Lasha’s journey at Bondora:

I joined Bondora around 1.5 years ago. I was looking for new adventures then, so Bondora came up at precisely the right time. I have been a part of a great team with which I have enjoyed working a lot so far. There have been lots of challenges on the way, and probably many more are coming up, but that’s what makes it fun!

Lasha’s typical workday

I usually work in a hybrid mode – half of the time from home and the other half from the office. My home setup is a bit different, I have a much noisier keyboard⌨️ for example, but in the office, I usually need noise-canceling headphones🎧 to fully focus.

In both cases, I like to have a minimalistic setup, with only necessary items on the desk.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

🏗️Building new stuff and seeing it work for the first time.

And what makes being a developer at Bondora awesome?

Great people around you and lots of challenges!

How did you find your way into the world of programming? What has the experience been like so far?

I was always excited by computers🖥️ and interested in doing things with computers. Still, I didn’t think I would start programming until I decided to go to university and chose my study program. I have always felt that I got lucky🍀 with my choice, so I’m pretty happy with the experience so far.

Best meme that sums up being a developer?

‘I can’t start programming before I …’

I’m not going to be original here and will say a cup of good black coffee ☕

What programming language is your favorite and why?

The language that I know the best: C#.

What is your best investment advice?

Don’t overlook it, and start investing as early as you can (if you are not already) 📈

Best cybersecurity/IT tip?

Get to know your tech better and try to understand how things work. That’s the best way to be safe and make your life easier.

And now, let’s get to know Lasha even better!

What are some of your hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time?

You can find me doing many things in my free time, from outdoor activities like cycling🚵, hiking🥾, traveling✈️ to being at home and watching football⚽, binge-watching TV shows📺, or playing video games🎮. Also, catching up with friends with some good craft beer🍻 is always a pleasure.

What are your favorite games to play?

I like board games a lot, so when I have company, I try to play whatever game I get my hands on.

From video games, I would say ‘Outer Wilds’ is a masterpiece.

Which game have you clocked the most hours with on Steam?

I think this is ’Dyson sphere program.’

Bacon: yay or nay?

I prefer prosciutto, but I wouldn’t say nay to bacon either 😊

What’s your favorite TV show/podcast?

‘The Leftovers’ from TV shows. I don’t listen to many podcasts, but if I had to name one, it would be a football one: ‘Serie A Audio Experience by IFTV.’

What’s your favorite kind of music (to listen to while programming)?

While programming definitely electronic music🎶, specifically techno/house. It helps me to get in the zone and into the rhythm easily.

Do you have any pets?

I don’t have one, but my girlfriend’s parents have this cutie that loves to be the center of attention. Her name is Kissan.

Kissan, my girlfriend’s cute family cat.

What superpower would you like to have and why?

I’ve always thought that I would love to have the ability to teleport – traveling to any point in the universe🌌 in seconds sounds exciting.

What’s something that you want to do but scares you?

Learning the Estonian language, although I have made some progress with it recently 😊

All good football games (and blog posts) come to an end. We are proud to have Lasha as part of our team on Superheroes🦸‍♂️ and that we had the chance to introduce him to our dear readers.
